We tested the GOAT GEN GPOD Elite for two weeks in Lahore: ANC performance, battery life, mic quality, and whether it is actually worth buying in Pakistan.

FutureByte Score

8.2/10

The GOAT GEN GPOD Elite has been heavily marketed across Pakistani e-commerce and social media for the past few months. We picked up a pair and used them daily for two weeks — commuting, calls, working from home, and gym sessions — to give you an honest verdict.

FutureByte tip: If you are buying from an online store in Pakistan, check that the seller offers a proper warranty card. GOAT GEN products sold through authorised distributors include a 6-month warranty.

Quick Verdict

The GPOD Elite delivers solid ANC performance for its price bracket, competitive battery life, and a comfortable fit for long sessions. The mic quality is acceptable for calls but won’t impress on video recording. For buyers in Pakistan looking for ANC earbuds under PKR 8,000, this is currently one of the strongest options available locally.

Design and Build Quality

The GPOD Elite uses a semi-in-ear design with a short stem, similar in profile to AirPods but with a matte finish that does not pick up fingerprints easily. The case is compact and fits cleanly in a shirt pocket. Both buds and the case feel solid — no flex, no creaking.

The touch controls are responsive. A single tap pauses and plays, double tap skips, triple tap goes back, and a long press toggles ANC modes. This took about a day to memorise but worked reliably throughout testing.

Colour options note: The GPOD Elite is currently available in Midnight Black and Arctic White in Pakistan. The White version shows ear wax build-up more visibly on the nozzle mesh — worth knowing before you choose.

ANC and Sound Quality

Active noise cancellation on the GPOD Elite works best on consistent low-frequency noise: AC units, fans, car engines, and plane cabin hum. It reduces these noticeably. High-frequency sounds like voices and sharp noises are reduced less effectively — do not expect full isolation in a loud office environment.

Sound quality is tuned with a mild V-shape: boosted bass and slightly elevated highs, with a recessed midrange. This suits music, podcasts, and YouTube well. For mixing or reference listening it would not be appropriate, but that is not who this product is for.

Battery Life

GOAT GEN claims 7 hours per bud with ANC on and 32 hours total with the case. In our testing with ANC on and volume at around 60%, we consistently hit just under 6.5 hours per charge. With ANC off, 7.5 hours was easily achievable. The case charged the buds roughly 3 times before needing its own charge via USB-C.

Microphone Quality

Call quality is clear in quiet environments. In noisy settings — outdoors, near traffic, or in a busy workspace — the mic picks up background noise more than we would like. The environmental noise cancellation (ENC) on the mic helps but does not eliminate the issue. For short calls this is fine. For long business calls or client meetings in a noisy environment, you may want a dedicated headset.

Final Verdict

The GOAT GEN GPOD Elite punches above its weight for ANC and battery life at its price point in Pakistan. The build is solid, the fit is comfortable for long wear, and the touch controls are reliable. The mic is the main weak point. If calls are your primary use case, consider stepping up. For music, content, and daily commuting — this is a genuinely good buy.
